Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, Newfound Mechanical, is seeking to fill Sheet Metal Worker positions (Journeyman or 3rd/4th year Apprentices), to work at job sites located in Atlantic Canada (mainly Nova Scotia).

Position Overview:

Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker

As a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker, you will work across a variety of commercial and industrial job sites, contributing your expertise to HVAC and ventilation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with various HVAC and mechanical ventilation systems
  • Install, repair, and maintain ventilation and ductwork systems
  • Interpret drawings and specifications to determine HVAC system layouts
  • Ensure work complies with applicable codes, permits, and safety regulations
  • Identify and recommend areas for system improvements
  • Supervise and mentor apprentice sheet metal workers as required

 

Apprentice Sheet Metal Worker 

As an Apprentice you will gain hands-on experience working alongside skilled journeypersons on commercial HVAC projects, ensuring all work is completed to code.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist journeypersons with daily tasks on job sites
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and project leads, while demonstrating initiative and leadership skills.
  • Acquire tools and supplies as directed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Appropriate credentials and certifications (where applicable)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay: $33.80-$41.00 per hour depending on experience

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

  • sheet metal: 3 year (required)

Language:

  • English (required)

License/Certification:

  • Sheet Metal Experience in the commercial/residential field (required)
