Safety Advisor

Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, Newfound Mechanical, is seeking to fill a Safety Advisor position that will be based out of Charlottetown, PEI with travel throughout the Atlantic provinces.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Advisor to join our team. The Safety Advisor will be responsible for promoting a safe work environment by monitoring safety policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and help prevent workplace accidents and injuries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain workplace health and safety programs
• Maintain a strong and visible field presence, emphasizing proactive prevention and leading‑indicator activities
• Partner with management and operations to reinforce safety expectations through consistent coaching and engagement
• Provide expertise and guidance on safety standards, best practices, and risk‑mitigation strategies
• Assist employees in identifying hazards and implementing effective controls to reduce risk
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments
• Ensure compliance with company, contractual, local, provincial, and federal safety regulations
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports
• Maintain safety training documentation and schedule safety training when required
• Complete orientation for employees
• Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training
• Recommend improvements to workplace safety practices
• Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational health and safety. Knowledge of OHS regulations within the Maritime provinces, including NB, NS, PEI and NL, as well as CSA standards and industry best practices
• Knowledge of safety regulations and standards
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills with an approachable style while maintaining professionalism and clear expectations
• Certification in First Aid/CPR (asset)
• Professional safety certification (e.g., CRSP or equivalent) is an asset
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to travel

• Strong organizational and reporting skills
• Ability to identify hazards and implement solutions
• Confident in delivering training sessions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Details:

Location: Based out of Charlottetown, PEI, with travel throughout Atlantic provinces.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary and additional compensation factors: $60,000-$80,000 depending on experience. Health and dental benefits available.
