Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, F.J. Wadden & Sons Ltd, is seeking to fill a Data Analyst (Operations & System Support) role, to join their team in their facility located in Mount Pearl, NL.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the General Manager, this role combines data analysis with operational and IT systems support. You will primarily focus on collecting, transforming, and analyzing data from both modern and legacy systems, while also supporting day-to-day business operations.
You’ll play a key role in bridging legacy infrastructure (including IBM systems) with modern data tools—helping improve reporting, streamline processes, and enable better decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Reporting
• Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources, including legacy platforms
• Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using SQL, Excel, and BI tools
• Extract and transform data from IBM-based systems into usable formats
• Present insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Systems & Operational Support
• Support day-to-day business operations through reporting and data requests
• Work with legacy IBM systems (e.g., green screen interfaces) to access and manage data
• Utilize IBM i Access (Client Access) tools for querying and system interaction
• Assist with user access, connectivity issues, and basic system monitoring
• Support VPN setup and troubleshooting for remote users
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on system and infrastructure issues
Collaboration & Process Improvement
• Partner with business teams to understand data needs and translate them into actionable solutions
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, data quality, and reporting efficiency
• Maintain clear documentation of data workflows, systems, and support procedures
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, business operations, or a similar role
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases
• Experience working with legacy systems (e.g., IBM environments or similar)
• Familiarity with IBM i Access (Client Access) or comparable tools
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and VPN connectivity
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate insights clearly to non-technical audiences
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts
• Experience supporting or interacting with IT infrastructure
• Exposure to integrating or modernizing legacy systems
• Understanding of statistical analysis methods

Tools & Technologies:
• SQL, Fortras Sequel (or similar query tools)
• IBM i Access / Client Access
• Excel, Power BI Tools
• Legacy IBM systems (green screen environments)
