Jump Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager, in Labrador City, on behalf of our client. The Assistant Branch Manager reports to the Branch Manager. The Assistant Branch Manager professionally represents the core values and assists in the promotion and sale of company products and services, while adhering to company policies and procedures. The successful candidate will establish and maintain strong employee and client relationships, work as a member of the branch team, and sets a strong personal example of service and professionalism. The Assistant Branch Manager assists the Branch Manager in the day-to-day operations of the branch and directly supervises front-line employees.
What you will be doing:
- Understanding, uncovering, and meeting the needs of our clients by delivering customized financial solutions which include deposits, investment, and lending services
- Renewing all maturing lending and investments while exploring opportunities to consolidate other business
- Developing an effective plan that includes follow up calls, the solicitation of new business, and the retention of existing business in accordance with branch marketing plans and individual sales objectives
- Ensuring profitability of loans and deposits through ongoing assessment of rates and fees
- Using effective interview techniques to build relationships with new clients; follow through with proper client onboarding
- Promoting the institution by maintaining strong relationships with clients and potential clients, the business community, and civic organizations to promote good will and generate business
- Preparing all documentation pertaining to accounts, investments and lending in accordance with institution policies and procedures
- Adhering to all legislative and regulatory requirements (e.g. Privacy, Anti-Money Laundering)
- Assisting in managing and maintaining the branch retail lending portfolio
- Adhering to institution robbery procedures and branch security measures
- Ensuring institution balancing policies and procedures are followed daily, including cash counts, ATM, treasury items and dual custody
- Monitoring delinquent accounts ensuring institution losses are kept to a minimum
- Providing supervision, direction, and coaching to front-line employees
- Supporting the Branch Manager by participating in hiring decisions, performance management, and training and development of employees
- Assisting in the delivery of weekly team meetings
What you will bring:
- Post secondary education combined with previous managerial experience
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter with strong leadership skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain professional client relationships
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
- Thorough working knowledge of banking and customer service software considered an asset
