Michelle began her consulting practice in 2018 and incorporated Michelle Hawco Consulting in 2020. Michelle has always been interested in helping people navigate problems, overcome obstacles and create positive change. Michelle’s expertise has evolved to working with leaders, teams, organizations and communities to navigate change and growth. Michelle is an advisor, coach, mentor, and facilitator. Her formal education in psychology, social work and leadership, combined with experience in front line, management and leadership roles led to the formation of Michelle Hawco Consulting.

Michelle is the principal consultant and has worked in senior leadership positions in the federal and provincial public service, and the private sector. She has extensive experience in the social sector including justice and public safety, child and family services, child and youth care, health, and with indigenous organizations. Michelle is a registered social worker (RSW) with NLCSW and has a Masters of Arts in Leadership (MAL). She is a Board member with Stella’s Circle and Manuel’s River Community Inc, and a member of Governance committees in both organizations. Michelle has worked extensively with indigenous organizations, supporting leaders with self determination, and supporting development and growth of Indigenous led organizations.

Michelle Hawco Consulting works with leaders and their teams to assess needs to improve governance and leadership, build cohesive teams, develop strategic plans and navigate change. We develop relationships built on trust , guide clients through organizational change, and build custom solutions using a client led, collaborative approach.. She facilitates strategic planning processes, mentor leaders in their growth and development, and works with teams on their cohesiveness and development. Her strategic planning approach incorporates Verne Harnish’s “Scaling up” Methodology and Ed Morrison’s “Strategic Doing” frameworks for change and growth.

Michelle Hawco Consulting is an Authorized Partner and certified trainer of Everything DiSC® and plans to be certified in the Five Behaviors® Model in February 2024. Both are progressive research based training platforms with tools to aid leaders and their teams to improve relationships and their results. Both methodologies can be delivered through a coaching process and or with intact teams in a virtual, hybrid or in person format. Michelle incorporates the models into her practice based upon the needs of her clients.

Everything DiSC® is an assessment-based learning experience that deepens self-awareness, inspires appreciation of others, and fosters effective collaboration in the workplace. Everything DiSC® measures an individual’s preferences and tendencies based on the DiSC® model. Participants receive personalized insights that deepen their understanding of self and others, making workplace interactions more enjoyable and effective.

The Five Behaviors® Model, developed in partnership with New York Times best-selling author Patrick Lencioni’s groundbreaking model for developing cohesive teams through five key behaviors: Trust, Conflict, Commitment, Accountability, and Results, offers a unique framework and set of behaviors for both individuals and intact teams designed to strengthen team cohesion and effectiveness.
