Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, Theriault & Hachey Peat Moss Ltd., are seeking Tractor Operators to join their team in Baie-Sainte-Anne, NB.
Position Summary:
With their fleet of 17 double-broom vacuum harvesters, they make and harvest high quality peat products for their customers worldwide. The Tractor Operator will drive a tractor with attached implement to perform various tasks in peat field production, harvesting and peat field maintenance operations.
They currently have multiple positions available for seasonal operations, from May through to September/October for 70+ hours weekly, and local accommodations are provided, as well as transportation costs to/from work location for temporary relocation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hook up implements with PTO (Power Take-Off) and / or 3-point hitch and / or drawbar and / or hydraulic hook-up to the tractor.
- Implements are – rotary miller, harrow, harvester, ditcher, leveler, chopper / tiller, grader, pond cleaning pump, backhoe, wagon and snow blower.
- Drive tractor with implement to designated work area for assigned task.
- Operate equipment according to field conditions, required settings and speed.
- Upon completion of assignment return to yard, park equipment or unhook implement / change for another implement.
- Abide by Hazard Control and Safe Work Procedures in regards to personal safety, tractor & implement safety and operations, fire prevention, tractor parking and tractor refueling.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating a tractor and/or farming equipment, or willingness to learn. (No specific License or Certification required to operate tractor.)
- Reliable, capable and dependable of completing 70-80 hours weekly, in all weather conditions.
- Open and available to hours of work (7am-9pm daily) from May-September/October. Willing to temporarily relocate for duration of contract.
Job Details:
- Full-time, Seasonal position (May through September/October)
- Pay Rate: $19.89/hour
- Over-time rate (Time & Half) after 44 hours weekly.
- Discounts with local businesses in position area.
- Bonus in June for PPE purchases.
- Transportation/Travel costs covered (ferry, gas, flights, etc.) and accommodation provided (small rental fee will be expected).
