Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our confidential client, is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated and results-driven Accountant, to join their team in St. John’s, NL. This is a long-term career in a diverse, rapid-paced work environment that is full-time permanent, and is an in-office role.

The Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Controller in the overall functioning of the Accounting Department within applicable company management policies and procedures, and established accounting practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
  • Monitoring and reviewing project cost accounts.
  • Preparation and processing of customer/project invoicing.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Preparation of cash flow forecasts.
  • Processing of payroll and payroll related items.
  • Contract administration.
  • Training and orientation for the position may include temporary assignment to various departments / functions within the administration team.

Qualifications:

  • Education in accounting, preferably Bachelor degree, or background in a related field supplemented with extensive industry experience
  • Professional Accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) preferred.
  • 3-5+ years related work experience.
  • Completion of a relevant co-operative education program given consideration.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products, including Excel.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Quality oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong organizational, communication and time management skills.
  • Self-starter with an eagerness to problem solve.
  • Team player who is dependable, ethical, and whose integrity can be counted on.
