Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, Harbour Grace Ocean Industries, is seeking to fill a Controller position to join them in-office in Harbour Grace, NL.
Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Controller to join our dynamic team. The Controller will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of the monthly financial statements.
- Owning the general ledger, by ensuring accounts are reconciled.
- Manage cash flow and prepare weekly cash flow forecasts
- Complete monthly CRA filings for HST & Payroll.
- Monitor project costs and time by completing a weekly analysis of budget vs. actual.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
- Participate in long-term financial planning and capital investment projects.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Professional Accountant with 4-7 years of experience in accounting.
- Experience in the shipbuilding or manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
- Experience with Maestro accounting system is desirable but not required.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
