Our client, Whitbourne Drug Mart, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join their team. Whitbourne Drug Mart is an independently owned and operated pharmacy serving the community of Whitbourne and surrounding areas for over 40 years. They are seeking a Pharmacy Technician who enjoys practicing to their full scope and shows strong customer service skills, ability to self-direct, and be part of their cohesive team.

The Role: 

  • Receive new or refill prescriptions, create and maintain accurate patient profiles
  • Assess prescriptions to ensure they meets all legal requirements
  • Participate in data entry for new prescriptions
  • Alert the pharmacist to drug therapy related problems
  • Participate in all aspects of non-sterile compounding
  • Receive and transcribe verbal prescriptions from practitioners
  • Transfer prescriptions to and receive prescriptions from other pharmacies
  • Participate in the preparation of prescriptions
  • Complete the final technical check of prepared prescriptions
  • Administer injections/vaccinations
  • Help patients select and use medication devices, monitoring devices, and home health aids
  • Deliver exceptional customer service
  • Participate in third party adjudication
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy requirements
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory

Qualifications: 

  • Diploma from a Pharmacy Technician college
  • Registered and in good standing with the NLPB
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous pharmacy experience preferred
  • Injection Certified preferred
