The Job
The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and driving strategic financial planning and budgeting. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and a deep understanding of financial management.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development and management of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses. Provide insights to optimize financial performance and support long-term planning.
- Strategic Planning: Work closely with management/owners to develop and implement financial strategies. Offer financial insights and recommendations to guide business decisions and support organizational goals.
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis and modeling to support strategic initiatives and identify areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards. Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field and/or equivalent work experience
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in financial management, with a focus on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
