Higher Talent has partnered with a client in the restaurant/entertainment industry in their search for a Controller. This role will require performing duties for multiple companies. The Job  

The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and driving strategic financial planning and budgeting. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and a deep understanding of financial management.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development and management of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses. Provide insights to optimize financial performance and support long-term planning.
• Strategic Planning: Work closely with management/owners to develop and implement financial strategies. Offer financial insights and recommendations to guide business decisions and support organizational goals.
• Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis and modeling to support strategic initiatives and identify areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.
• Compliance & Auditing: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards. Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field and/or equivalent work experience
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in financial management, with a focus on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
